Perhaps, like you, they want products to be functional, to meet all sustainable energy criteria, to help the house look great, and to combine stylish design with innovative technology from leading brands you can trust.

Protect everyone’s health while you save money with state-of-the-art range of ventilation systems.

Recent findings have shown that air indoors is often more polluted – and a greater threat to health – than the corresponding air outdoors means that action must be taken now to protect against danger, save money, and improve health.

Choosing the most effective ventilation system (whether it be roof vents, ventilation for attics, heat recovery, fans, industrial) is important because the Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) could affect the health and comfort of the people inside a building. And since you want the very best in a range of ventilation systems for you project, it’s good to know that you’ve come to the right place.

As you are probably already aware, the use of ventilation as a means to dilute contaminants, filtration, and source control are methods for improving indoor air quality in most buildings.

There are a number of ways to test IAQ – from collecting air samples, collecting samples on the building surfaces, and computer modelling of air flow inside buildings – and these samples can then be analysed for mould, stressors, chemicals, bacteria, etc. Tests lead to understanding the source(s) of contamination, which in turn, points to solutions for their removal.

As you will see, the ventilation product range offers you the very best in all types of ventilation, including ~

•mechanical ventilation
•roof vents
•attic ventilation
•roof ventilation
•heat recovery ventilator
•wide range of fans

Save Energy With Home Made Wind Generator

High energy costs and an environmentally battered planet affect each one of us in one way or another. The fact of the situation is it is really quite possible for a good percentage of us to cut our monthly bill while helping to save the planet. Yes, kill two birds with a single stone just by turning to renewable energy and the best and practical technique to do that’s arguably thru the use of home made wind generators.

Wind Generator
Having having said that , it’s not always feasible or practicable. And are they inexpensive over the conventional form of power?

Wind power generation is based on the concept of energy conversion. Basically, the wind power turns the windmill which is attached to a turbine alternator or converter to provide electrical power. Traditional windmills are just water pumps but modern wind power generators are complete power systems that come with safety, high-wind survival, lightning and electrical overload protection and emergency shutdown features. The majority are equipped with options for storage and interconnection to area utility grids for credit or sale of overflow power.
Ideally, the house sits on a good-sized plot in a comparatively spaced-out rustic or sub-urban neighborhood. Surrounding wind resource is steady and even. The local supply grid also supports the interconnection of excess power for reverse credit or sale.

That is the reason why wind power generators are sometimes employed in mutual complement with another renewable energy source specifically solar power, sunlight supply of which intrinsically is also not continuous thru either.
It isn’t rocket science to make wind energy. A handful of those DIY handbooks essentially do a particularly neat job in guiding even the fully uninitiated to construct their own wind power generators from nothing. It’s possible to not only chop your power bills but also receive payment for the excess that is channeled back onto the utility grid. On top of that, there’s the sensation of gratification from understanding that you have made a contribution to the green movement.

Energy Efficient Lighting Options in a Modern Home

Lighting is a necessary and powerful part of any environment. A new homes lighting should be versatile and energy efficient. With the dimmers and fixtures of today it is possible to have optimal lighting and save energy at the same time. In this article I plan to hit on some of the best suited places to put today’s energy efficient lighting.

Lighting can be broken down in to three major types, ambient, task, and accent. Ambient lighting can be provided by many sources but for this article we will touch on two of the most common sources of general lighting in todays homes, the table lamp and the ceiling mount fixture. This is probably the easiest type of lighting to provide using energy efficient sources as the common retro-type fluorescent bulb can go in most any table lamp and flush mount fixture. In the past several years Verilux and Ottlite have created a niche market by offering lamps that take dedicated fluorescent bulbs that closely match daylight. While this can sometimes offer good general illumination in a room remember that these types of fixtures usually have a very white light that does not look good in most living areas.

The second type of lighting used to light a space is task lighting. Task lighting is needed anywhere tasks will be performed, the most common areas in a home being the kitchen, the office, and the laundry room. In the kitchen the way to be energy conscious is with fluorescent or LED under cabinet lighting. Many companies offer both types including Lithonia, Kichler, and National Specialty Lighting. It is important to mention that regardless of the type of energy efficient lighting you decide to use under cabinets for task lighting be sure that the Kelvin Temperature is close to that of the other fixtures in the room.

Finally accent lighting can also be achieved with energy efficient lighting. Flourescent bulbs and fixtures are not well suited to accent lighting due the large source of light from fluorescent tubes. Today’s energy efficient accent lighting is provided with LED. There are now very good retro fit LED bulbs available in MR16 and PAR types but they can still be expensive. Putting dimmers on Halogen accent lighting is also can also be an energy conscious choice when designed properly.

This is just a quick overview of ways to remember the environment when designing and specifying the lighting for today’s homes. Any space can be lit wisely and efficiently with the tools available today. How to Buy an Energy Efficient Pond Heater

Energy efficiency is all the rage, across a range of technical and mechanised products with a view to cashing in on the heightened awareness around the environment and global warming. Whilst there is a great deal of hype and hyperbole, there is also much to be said for opting for energy efficient models of your favourite technical products, to save you money and improve operating efficiency. With pond heaters, energy efficient models are quickly taking over more traditional units, becoming the product of choice for pond experts and enthusiasts. But for the beginner, it can be difficult to gauge how energy efficient a particular unit may be, and what to look for when making your purchasing decision. In this article, we’ll look at some of the ways you can make sure you’re getting a good deal when buying an energy efficient pond heater.

Nowadays the initial reaction to requiring a pond heater for most enthusiasts is to get online. Particularly for an energy efficient pond heater, the Internet can prove to be quite a specialised domain, and it might be worthwhile doing some reading on what to look for before you begin even considering spending money on any of the available options. Pond heaters come in all different shapes, styles and sizes, and so do ponds – much of it will come down to your own specific circumstances, so reading up on your options is probably your best bet.

Alternatively, face to face shopping for your energy efficient pond heater could be a good way to take advantage of on-the-spot advice from the salesman, who will most likely be far more knowledgeable on your requirements than you. Ask him to direct you to the most efficient pond heater for your type of pond, but bear in mind that he isn’t your friend and is still trying to make a sale, at the end of the day!

For the more advanced buyer, there’s nothing better than opting for mail order. With a specific mail order retailer, you can find exactly what you’re looking for at a reasonable price delivered straight to your door. Additionally you can take time to ponder over a range of products at reasonable prices, and you can pick up on more specialised units that won’t often be available in your local shops. Of course, unless you already know what you’re looking for, this probably won’t be of much use!

Buying an energy efficient pond heater might not seem like your number one priority, but the sooner you make the switch and commit to environmentally friendly, cost effective technologies throughout your home and garden, the better. Whether you buy your energy efficient pond heater online, at your local hardware store or through a specialist mail order retailer, making sure your get a good deal initially and select an appropriate unit could prove to be a wise investment from a financial perspective and indeed a moral perspective, given the knock-on impact this could have on the environment and the continuity of the world in which we live.
