Energy efficiency is the most important single future source of energy to supply the growing energy demand and to protect the climate. Being energy efficient in industry, mobility and housing will offer the biggest potential to use energy more efficient. Just through energy efficiency and with already existing technologies it’s possible to curb our predicted increasing global energy demand and thus the CO2-emissions by the year 2030 significantly. In this special video edition of our podcast “Chemistry of Innovations” you will learn how energy efficiency helps to protect the climate.

BASF sell oil products and wants us to be dependent upon them for a long time. Yes, energy effiency is important, but more important is the effect on nature and human kind the use of energy has! I don’t trust the message of BASF. BASF is a big petrochemical compagny like Monsanto and Dupont and all they want is make money with oil. They want to make a good image of themself by this video. I think this is corrupt capitalism!

what u do is u get the ice cube and drop it in the water and it cools it down how good is that idea.

design and build for increased energy efficiency

energy efficiceny is critical in reducing the load demands for energy- this reduces the volumes required to be produced costing less and polluting less…. all good things. Your anger is blinding you. let it go and become a part of the solution… good luck

  5. CandianBear — February 22, 2010 @ 8:00 pm

you are wrong- renewable energy is far less energy dense than fossil fuels- we can not consume the same volume at the same speed being supplied by renewables as we have by fossil fuels- that is the truth. get off your angry soap box mate and use your passion for positive use and be a agent for change — otherwise you are a waste of space.

    take care

ummm… mate relax, you are not wrong but are not actually listening to the message in this video. energy efficiency is a key player in the debate on how we stop being so insane. deal with your anger or you will be a part of the problem and not the solution

    take care

We are only this shit because of the American “shot first and ask questsions later” culture.

  8. HolyTrouble — February 22, 2010 @ 9:35 pm

The message on the video is so true, but I don’t think that basf is a ideal corporation at saving energy. My father works for Basf and he is travelling all the time by plane. In that way he uses alot of energy.

Anyway this video Rocks and it has a good point on it.

the problem is NOT energy efficiency, there is enough sustainable energy

the problem is wear that energy comes from

that is what this stupid video doesn’t even bother mentioning to the public

  10. ibmibm763 — February 22, 2010 @ 10:39 pm

Oh yes, lets talk about how much more we can use oil instead of elaborating on the fact that geothermal, solar, wind and wave energy is vast and 100% sustainable, lets spend billions more on trying to get oil out of the ground as it continues to get sucked up, and becomes more difficult to drill for, and also make trillions more off the scarce resoucre.

you people are insane, and will destroy this world.
