Mary Manross honored today at the 18th Annual Energy Efficiency Forum held at the National Press Club in Washington, DC Receiving the Mayor’s Award this year is Scottsdale, Arizona Mayor, Mary Manross. First elected in 2000 and now in her second term, Mayor Manross has an environmental legacy that encompasses the promotion of solar energy, investment in energy efficiency and green technology, along with dessert and mountain preservation. Under her leadership, Scottsdale is the nation’s only municipality in the EPA’s National Environmental Performance Track. It was the first city to adopt a LEED™ Gold Green Building Policy for all municipal buildings. The policies that Mayor Manross helped create will continue to drive energy innovation and leadership into the next decade.
